"The stately elegance of the stilt as it lurches along
the shore of a quiet back water created a pair of freeze frames in my
mind. Are there two birds here, or only one, whose motion has been obscured
by an eye-blink?
"While working on this composition later in the studio, I'm searching
for the interstice between the images. It is this unperceived link between
two states of being that has come to be known as inspiration. It is that
time between dreaming and waking that carries us forward into a new reality.
"In other words, a daydream, intersecting our consciousness, pulls
us into our future, complete with sights, sounds, and feelings. It is
similar to the weak force in gravity binding us to the continuum"
